Donating to the Foundation

Obtaining funding for research on animal diseases, health care and welfare is problematic. All major providers of funding define eligible research programmes or key areas of research, and none of these include research on animals. Animal research seems valuable only when animals serve as experimental subjects or as models for research on human diseases.

The Finnish Veterinary Foundation finances animal research that aims to find means to diagnose, to prevent and to treat animal diseases. The Foundation also supports research that promotes appropriate animal keeping and health care while enhancing the welfare of domestic animals.

If you find these to be important objectives, we hope that you will consider donating to the Finnish Veterinary Foundation. By donating, you can contribute to the promotion of animal health and welfare. For information on practicalities, please contact Professor Timo Soveri, Chair of the Foundation, or Jerker Hedman, Director.
